Hi!

Seeing that I’m not the only one with this problem has given me the confidence to write about it.

My name is Lisa and I have a fear of public speaking. I pretty much social with my friends and family, but I feel terrified whenever I need to speak or even express an opinion in public! It’s scary- my heart begins pounding, I feel faint, and I forget what I was going to say. It’s frustrating because I feel like people are judging me or thinking I’m dumb.

I can’t keep living in a state of panic whenever I need to talk to someone new, I know it’s something I’m going to need to do when I find a job. I’m panicking right now just thinking about it! I need to find a solution to this quickly!!

Has anyone else had to deal with this? Can anyone help me? Thank you!

I took a public speaking class through the University and that gave me the skills/tools I use when I have to speak in public. I still get nervous and anxious, but once I start speaking it goes away.
