I am not sure if it effects my driving. But I have had to stop driving (pull over) due to anxiety. Until it passes - I could do something "bad".
Can you drive for awhile, pull over until the emotion passes and the try for awhile longer?? I know it seems awkward and time consuming - but eventually you either beat this condition or it consumes you. (in my opinion). Good luck and Gods blessings to you. |

Totally affects my driving and the ways I take to get from point A to point B. I used to not mind driving on the highway thru town...now I only use surface streets and if you've ever driven in Vegas you know what a nightmare that is. I think I could probably use the highway driving across the country as I did years ago....but I still hate the interchanges...they scare me to death!!!
Traffic jams make me claustrophobic (and I'm not usually) and I have to concentrate on breathing and not ripping out my hair when I'm in them. My friends all laugh that I have a 'square' and I refuse to drive out of it....the last time I did was to a funeral for a friends son...she has a square also, and totally appreciated what it took for me to get there. |

I have done better with driving in the last week, but I have one fear and it is an underwater tunnel. I am so scared my dr misdiagnosed me and I have like a blood clot or about to have an aneurysm. He diagnosed me with TMD and anxiety...but I have this feeling if I go through that tunnel my head will explode and I will die...it'sweird I know

The only issue I have with driving is focusing too much on myself rather than the road, but I usually don't start driving until my panic attack has passed for the most part...after every attack I get I become depressed and worn down, so my driving gets a little wavy and I lose focus of when I stopped at a stop light and/or how I started to drive again.
