I live at home with my mother, my brother, his wife and my 19 month year old niece. My neither and hiswife fight all the time. It's causing me anxiety attacks. Granted on 31 and engaged it's high time to move out but for nor this is my home. The fighting is bad but they always pick on me and treat me like a child. They also misuse myself and my mother for nannies. I just feel like crying any advice I could use some friends.

Maybe when the fighting starts you can try to remove yourself from the situation when it's possible. People often say hateful things that they don't really feel or mean when they get into that kind of angry state, but I know that it still hurts when people take their anger out on you even if it's just because they are feeling really sh*tty themselves...

I have a niece that is almost the same age but I don't get to see her very often since she lives pretty far from me. I don't mean to make light of your situation because it sounds pretty tough, but that is such a cute age and I wish I got to see my niece often like that

I don't know if I have a lot of great advice or anything like that but you can PM me if you ever just need someone to talk to or vent to or whatever... take care

Lizzy31, do you have the resources to move out? That would be your best bet.

Can you afford a therapist? I think seeing one might help you to be able to insist that these folks treat you like the adult you are, and you will be able to speak up, too, when you are not able to be "nanny on the spot." They are doing it because you are allowing them to.

I see a therapist and I have been able to learn to speak up for myself when I need to. It's really empowering.
