I've been dealing with anxiety/panic for years. I find when my anxiety goes on for a period of time, my whole body hurts.
Right now I'm dealing with back pain, knee pain and headaches. I've been to numerous doctors and although I do have back problems, when I'm
anxious the pain is horrible.
I don't know what to do anymore. I love sports, but unable to participate due to the pain.

I have back pain too. Recently seen a doctor about it, x ray showed nothing wrong but was prescribed arcoxia and anarex to deal with the discomfort. Don't think it was from anxiety, just bad posture and diet. I mainly get chest pain from anxiety when I'm not taking propanolol.

It sounds like it's time to take control of your anxiety. Not only our you suffering mentally but physically as well. Try talking to someone about it. Most likely what your worrying about isn't realistic and a person you trust can reassure you. Try clearing your mind completely by meditating. You won't be able to get rid of your anxiety completely of course, but you can get it under control. It will be hard but keep going at it

I'm on meds and see a therapist every week. I just can't stop the negative thoughts, although I continue to try!

Good for you for persevering. Try thinking about the most realistic worry you have then ask yourself what would happen. Ex: your worried what your teacher will say when he figures out that you forgot to do your homework. He'll figure it out eventually. Then what? He'll probably ask you to make it up by whenever. Then what ? You'll get an even lower grade. Then what? You make it up by doing extra credit. The outcome most likely will be better than you thought

Thanks Bumblebuzz.....
I'm older and have experienced life at it's worst. I survived the death of both my parents and that's what began my spiral downward. I now worry about what the future may bring, more death, illness and god knows what else.
I obsess about all the horrible things that can happen, that I can't enjoy my life now.
I continue to work on my thoughts, but imaging what could happen, scares the crap out of me.

I find the back pain, for me comes from holding onto all the stress during an anxiety attack. I tend to feel nauseous and queasy, during those moments. Headaches can happen from teeth clenching. For me the core abdominal and back pain, are combination of some type of acidity from stress. Back, tension of muscles. Some complain of neck and arm pain.
Even with breathing and meditation skills, it's almost a given for me, if having an anxiety attack.

If I accept it for anxiety, and remind myself It's stress/anxiety, less likely to over nurse my back muscles after. As to me, someone who does get a herniated disc, from time to time, there's a different feeling, physical feeling, altogether.

Being unable to physically function, isn't an option, for me. I just work through it like a temporary strain on my body.

Hope you can find an approach for you that's lessens your debilitation.

Thanks Healing,
I've run the gambit of physical problems due to anxiety. This is just another hurdle to get over. I just get so tired of dealing with anxiety and panic, but at least I know what's causing my pain.
I have Therapy today and I will discuss this with her.
