I just got a notice in the mail saying that my payment for my insurance didn't go through. This happened before I went to traffic court, though I didn't find out until days afterwards. So now I'm getting scary notices saying that my drivers license will be revoked if I can't provide proof of insurance.
I corrected the problem -- it seemed like the insurance company made a mistake on my email address. But I have to wait a few days before I get the right paperwork. So I have to go back to the clerk's office and present my proof that my insurance was updated and corrected. I'm still afraid they're going to take my license away because: 1. I responded more a week later to correct this problem. They'll question why I waited so long, and decide it was because I was irresponsible. 2. My payment had not been covered when I was in court. I didn't know there were any problems with the payment, but they'll tell me I should've known that. I should have checked with the bank right afterwards. (I did.) Then I should have called in every day to see if they had gotten my payment. I should have done SOMETHING ELSE. 3. I keep having these problems. They have probably lost patience with my excuses that "I didn't know" or that "I did make a payment." People who say these things over and over again are considered unreliable, if not lying their *** off. 4. I should have pronounced my email address more clearly and I should have made sure the agent got it right. I did repeat it several times and asked him to read it back a couple of times, but it was still wrong. Obviously, I didn't do enough to make sure my billing account was going towards the right email address and IT'S ALL MY FAULT. So I've basically worn out everyone's patience with my irresponsible mistakes, so I should be prepared to face the consequences. So, lay on the punishments. |

I'm so sorry that happened. I think the person should have repeated the info back to you. Maybe the court will be more understanding than you think for.
