I am quite the worrier and lately my thoughts have been draining to the point of exhaustion. I don't want to think of the person I think of every single day but I just can't stop. I know it gets me nowhere but the circumstances that led me to this point just trigger the automatic thoughts, worrying and anxiety. What's it like to just not care what others think of you? What's it like to just let everything go once and for all? Am I making a big deal over worrying what someone thinks of me even though we aren't speaking right now?

I worry a lot too, but not about what other people think of me. I learned along time ago, you will never be liked by everyone. I'm a good, kind person and do my best to get along with other people. I wish I was treated with half the respect, I treat others with.
I look around me and see selfish, cruel, egotistical, broken people who care about nothing but themselves. Why would I care what these people think of me???

Our minds can be very irrational and make us get caught up in silly things.

It can be hard not to worry. Really hard. But the more we worry, the better we get at worrying. You should try and replace the habit of worrying, with another, more positive action - like deep breathing.

Try to react to your worrying by focusing on taking deep breaths. So every time you get an anxious thought, or an uncomfortable thought, just bring your attention to your breath and breathe in and out deeply for a little while. It'll be hard at first, and you'll forget to do it sometimes, but the more you try and breathe every time you worry, then the quicker you can calm yourself from these worrying thoughts. Worrying thoughts will become associated with the calming and beneficial effects of deep breathing, and so the thoughts will lose their hold on you. But this takes time, so keep at it.

Also, realise that other people's opinions don't affect your moral worth. If you try and be a good person, then that's all that matters. The negative opinion of someone else doesn't make you less of a person. You're awesome, so don't let other's opinions, or your own mind, convince you otherwise.
Thanks for this!
