I skipped the class I was supposed to present in last meeting. However, I am to present this coming Thursday.

Last time, I came close to a panic attack while waiting to speak. I'm in college now, and I guess I irrationally feel like I'm incapable in front all of all those honors kids.

I tried deep breathing, I compulsively drank water, but what made my episode only worse is that I thought that everyone could tell how worked up I was. I'm going to start preparing as soon as possible to try to prevent all the negative symptoms I felt last time. Still, it'd be nice to hear some tips from people who have experienced something similar.

Go first - the waiting part is the worse. I used to sit and wait and wait - my heart would beat out of my chest.......then I started to volunteer to go first....others wanted to go first also - I would jump up and literally push someone else out of the way so that I could go first - once it's over no more worries. You cannot feel like a fool because you set the standard that they now have to beat when you go first. You won't have to follow someone who gives a grand slam out of the park speech......go first.
Thanks for this!

Can you talk to your professor about speaking after class in front of him/her and say you have really bad anxiety? I don't know if they allow students to do this, but it's something I would ask.
