For me, this has been a real issue. I've had a few guys ask to 'hang out' or 'go eat' somewhere with them and my first initial reaction is to distance myself as far as possible. With one person, I kept making up excuses over and over until he finally gave up and stopped talking to me. Unfortunately I was genuinely interested and probably ended up making it seem like I didn't want to go out with him period. I just don't know how to handle situations like this. I always get so shaky and want to throw up just thinking about going on some type of date with someone, let alone doing it. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this better?

it sounds like you are not ready to date. that means you are not going tohave a healthy relationship if you try and force it. just be honest right up front and say you are not ready to date, but thanks for the offer. that they can check back with you in the futre if they are still intereste.d

The hard part is meeting them in the first place. I mean, for me, anyway. Almost every relationship I've been in I just stumbled into by accident, and I've gone many years completely alone.
Could I suggest that you put the thought of a romantic relationship out of mind when someone asks to just hang out? Do you have issues going out with the same gender? |
