Sometimes, it feels as though life is moving too quickly for me to process. For example, when listening to a conversation, the slightest distraction causes you to miss what has been said. You frantically try to regain focus, obsessing about what was previously said, causing a vicious cycle of panic. Does this state ever subside?

MMalguy, Hello and welcome to PC. I am sorry to hear that you are having problems concentrating and also having feelings of panic. That is very frustrating to deal with. Have you had this problem checked by a doctor? It could be many things causing this. I hope that you get this straightened out soon. To answer your question, there is always hope that there is a remedy to your problem. No worries.

It takes a little while for your first 5 posts to appear as they are first in moderation. If you have any questions about how to navigate this site feel free to contact any community liaison or moderator. Best wishes.

Welcome to Psych Central. Sorry to hear you have been through situations where you are losing focus. That happens to all of us. When I react to it in an anxious way I find it is even more difficult. Sometimes I tell the person "lost my train of thought...what were we talking about?" I probably would not do this with my boss because I try to keep impression I keep things under control.

You are not alone. There are many nice, caring people here. Feel free to private message me or any community liason by left clicking on their name underlined in blue to the left of the post and selecting Send a private message to .....[their name]. We are here to listen.

There are many forums here at Psych Central

I try to get exercise, yoga and other gentle stretching exercises and meditation to help me get started in the morning.
