Hi, My name is Melissa. I am 22 years of age (not sure how pertinent it may be to some). I have recently reached a rut and have lost my sense of self. I am experiencing both extremes of generalized anxiety and depression, accompanied by bouts of panic attacks and a long-term case of dysthymia. Often times, I find myself disassociating; it feels as though my sense of self is separate from my mind, my mind is separate from by body, and together we are separate from our surrounding. It is difficult to put into words how mentally and physically exhausting these states are. There is nothing to keep me grounded or wanting of life, yet ending it is not an option. I was curious to know if anybody has experienced the same situation, or a similar one, with positive results. Is there a light at the end of the tunnel? Thank you. |
