I am looking for job suggestions to tell my son who suffers from social anxiety. He can't pass the drug test due to weed use.
He is a good worker but has a hard time getting a job. He refuses to work where anyone may know him! He just gave notice at his current job of 6 weeks. Not sure if it was due to anxiety or just the fact it is every Sat/Sun for a 12 hr shift each day plus it is an hour drive one way. Was trying to come up with some suggestions.

What kind of skills does he have?
What kind of work experience?
What does he like?

I'm not sure where you're located, but if you live in the United States (or elsewhere but I'm not sure of availability) you should look in to government or private funded vocational rehabilitation programs. I work for a state agency in Texas that assists individuals with disabilities or impediments to employment with getting and maintaining a job. We provide a variety of assistance such as one-on-one training for social behaviors, accomodations for job sites, even assistance with job search and training to help people find jobs that are conducive to their disability. It sounds like this could be a great program for your son! If you send me some basic geographic information, I'd be happy to help you locate an office if its available in your area.

I didn't know there were vocational rehabilitation programs to help with a job. I might look into it

Assembly line worker, I like the trucker idea, anything with computers or tech support that does not involve talking on the phone, such as a online chat tech support where he would be virtually anonymous, some doctors offices hire people to take the doctors recorded notes and type them up (sometimes in the privacy of their homes - however that May require a drug test), some companies hire proofreaders to read and edit information from documents and reports etc. I hope this helps, but I would look into vocational rehab programs as well... They may be able to coordinate services to help him out.
