I don't really know what I have, I think it's social anxiety. It started randomly about a week before summer ended when I was 12, i started being scared to go near other people the same age as me or any other teenager, I was scared to walk near them or even be seen by anyone, I didn't eat eat in front of anyone because I was embarrassed and so school was Really bad. I started to freak out and break down over the smallest things and have to dart out class if I got to the emotional break down stage. I started hating school so much that I refused to go, It was at that time I started self harming I don't know why that just suddenly happened one day, I was fine the day before and I was ok at socialising so I don't know what happened my mum and dad started saying stuff like I wasent normal and there was something wrong with me which didn't help but I don't blame them since they were very stressed at the time and still are, I think they were to busy to notice anything since my brother was starting to go out of control then he's got asbergers and is 2 years younger that me and now in the future he is even worse... That was 2 years ago and I very slowly realised that I was the only one I could trust and so I did my best on my own to deal with the anxiety and I did solve it mostly I'm now 14 and compared to how it was its a lot better

but I really need to know if there is a possibility that it will happen again like as bad as it was 2 years ago?

And why did it happen in the first place?

Noiz Ratio, you are asking questions that only you with the help of a therapist may be able to answer. The reason is the whole experience of your life is in play and a therapist may be able to help you integrate these experiences so you can move on.

Since you say that you break down over small things, it might be advisable to see a psychiatrist and get a professional diagnosis and possible medication to help stabilize emotions. The benefit of a diagnosis is also that you can better choose a therapist that specializes in that area of illness.

Besides being an active participant in helping oneself at Psych Cental, many people also help support each other by replying to other people's posts. People here at PC may also have a therapist to talk things out and a psychiatrist or psych doc to diagnose and prescribe meds to help balance things our.

Many people who are actively involved in Psych Central find it helps take them out of their own problems to develop empathy for others. And their problems are more manageable the more they help others.

You need 5 posts or replies to other posts to use the chat room.

Glad you are joining us here. Some people find the forums give them the compassion and empathy they seek. http://forums.psychcentral.com

Well for me my acute anxiety has at least one source. But I didn't think about it much later and by that time damage was done and negative thinking developed into anxiety (does that make sense?) So it felt like the anxiety came out of nowhere and suddenly happened. It may be that you have had a source in the past, possibly still with you now, that is causing it. Only you would know and a therapist can shed some light but maybe this helps too. Hope you find your answers.
