For those who have uncomfortable body sensations accompanying your anxiety, where do you feel the sensation(s)? |

I feel mine in my chest and stomach. I, also, clinch my jaw.

Same as gayleggg, and add in depersonalization.
When trying to describe the feeling in my chest the best I can come up with is butterflies in my stomach that are surrounding my heart and trying to pull it into my stomach. Weird, I know.

Probably the most uncomfortable are my arms, face, and stomach. My arms go numb, my head tremors, and I get slight nausea. But it depends on the level of anxiety for me.

I feel butterflies in my chest, I can feel lightheaded, I clench my teeth and when it's really bad my whole body starts to tremble as if I'm freezing, my teeth can even start to chatter.
Actually has anyone ever experienced these physical symptoms before..... It hasn't happened in a long time but when I was in my late teens/early 20s sometimes everything around me would start to look either extremely far away and small OR look like everything was giant and I was small. Then sounds would come together in some sort of weird rhythm like my breathing would be in sync with the clock ticking on the wall or the traffic outside, any sound really would all just be in sync. I never knew if it was dissociation or not but it could get scary because when I was in it something would feel familiar with the in sync sounds, like something from childhood and I would try to mentally explore those feelings but it could cause this panic. Like a very scary sense of urgency to stop. I've tryed exploring this with my T but we have yet to come up with an answer. |

Whiteroses02, I, too, have experienced a change in perception because of my anxiety. You are not alone with that. I have not, however, had the familiarity feelings that you are describing during these "episodes."

![]() For me, it's a racing heart that beats so fast it feels like it's thumping in my chest and it simply will not slow down. |

Hooligan, too many people don't take into consideration what anxiety can do to your body. It's sad! I'm sorry that you feel that way. A lot of anxiety sufferers tend to have uncomfortable body sensations.
