Sometimes people ask me how they can cope with anxiety by natural means. I found this article in the Psych Central archives and liked yoga and mindfulness (meditation) since those have helped me but there are many other techniques mentioned. So here is a short excerpt and the full article.

If you are feeling anxious or wondering how to cope, there is a group of people that get together on Wednesday nights in an informal chat. Feel free to drop in at the Anxiety Chat in the Chat Room starting at 8PM EST and going till 9PM on Wednesday but some people linger longer talking about their week or what is happening in their life. Hope to see you there.

"Suffering from panic attacks or anxiety attacks are never fun and can be scary if you do not know what they are. This can be an uncomfortable feeling and knowing that it can happen to you again without any warning, can leave you to feel hopeless and helpless. For some, it can be an occasional panic attack where you experience it only in particular situations, while for others it can be frequent and recurring that it prevents you from leaving your home. I agree, yoga and meditation do seem to help -- if you do it on a regular basis. Especially meditation.

Current Medications:
Lithium 900 mg, Vyvanse 60 mg (twice per day), Pristiq 100 mg, Clonazepam (Klonopin) 3 mg, Haldol 2-4 mg + Ativan (Lorazepam) 1-2 mg

There are many types of monsters that scare me: Monsters who cause trouble without showing themselves, monsters who abduct children, monsters who devour dreams, monsters who suck blood... and then, monsters who tell nothing but lies. Lying monsters are a real nuisance: They are much more cunning than others.
