I recently developed a new issue during my panic attacks. A few times now, during a panic attack I'll be paranoid that I'm going to black out. I feel like I can't get enough oxygen and have trouble standing up straight.

Also, if I'm in a private place and can lay down for a nap, I fear that if I fall asleep I may not wake up (only during panic attack). I seem to fear that there may be something wrong with me besides the panic attack, yet I feel normal and refreshed once I wake up.

Anybody experience similar problems during a panic attack?

When I had attacks long ago I felt like I was going to fall over and/or pass out. I did not pass out or fall over one time though!

If you really feel like you are going to black out you need to tell your doc.

I did the same thing it took a year for me to get over it it was horrible. They were during my worse ones...thought if I would fall asleep I wouldn't wake up. And you can black out during a panic attack but it won't hurt you.

maxie, i feel like i may lose vision and or pass out when i am driving and having a panic attack. It was worse when I didn't realize that it was a panic attack. The medication has helped a great deal.

Thanks for the replies. It's comforting to know that others have experienced similar symptoms.

I have not actually blacked out during an attack, only felt as though I would. My doctor feels it is indeed due to anxiety/panic, but has asked me to tell him immediately if I actually do black out.
