Hi,

Thank you, once again, for your patience in reading this wall of text.

Recently, for a few years now, I've been having racing thoughts every single minute of the day. Whatever I'm doing, no matter how distracting it might be, I keep thinking that I have something else to do. It feels as if I'm racing throughout the day.

I'm on Paxil 20mg and don't have panic attacks. However I feel that my anxiety hasn't been worse as it is now, even my friends keep calling me a stressed person.

What can I do, pharmacologically and behaviorally to change this? I'm currently in an awesome job, despite it being a callcenter job, and I don't want to ruin promotion opportunities because I'm perceived as a stressed person.

I keep having existential questions pop in my mind, despite me not wanting to think about it.

Help me? Thank you.

Hi Iowamc. Sorry you are suffering from racing thoughts. Here are some tips at PsychCentral.com

https://www.google.com/url?sa=t&rct=...02022582,d.cWw

My own way to calm myself is to
Breathe naturally, silently counting 1 on the inhale, 2 on the exhale, 3 on the inhale, 4 on the exhale, continuing in this pattern up to 10. Then start at 1 again.
