I'm diagnosed with bipolar rapid cycling, ADD and "anxiety"/ paranoia sort of. I think my anxiety is not diagnosed properly and I'm having the hardest time explaining it.

Where do I start?...What is wrong with me....

Generally anxious all the time.

Lately been almost paralyzed thinking I'm going to get fired.

Get a different paralyzing anxiety when I have to talk to people or talk in front of people I know.

I freak out over changes (we're moving soon, thinking about it makes me want to vomit)

Constantly worked up I'm missing something and that doom and gloom is coming.

There's more but my thing is that on one hand its all anxiety, but its different flavors and intensities, so they're not the same types of anxieties. Right now I want to curl up in a corner, I'm terrified and I don't know why...the lexapro and clonazapam aren't touching it.

The tragic irony is that Im so afraid I'm going to loose my job that I don't know how to schedule an appointment to see...someone that might help.

But like I said when I can't explain it well then how do I get help? I can post in a forum but I can't talk my brain doesn't work when I try to talk...what is wrong with me?

hmmm slave_2010,
it sounds like to me you might have generalized anxiety disorder w major depressive disorder . I was diagnosed with anxiety and depression along with ptsd . im like that too but I don't have ADD like what my bro thinks it is . I would suggest to get a second opinion on your diagnosis w a counselor or a psychiatrist .

Diagnosis: Anxiety and depression
meds : Cymbalta 90 mgs at night
Vistaril 2 25 mgs daily for anxiety prn
50 mgs at night for insomnia

Absolutely. Get an appointment with a professional ASAP and stress that you need to see someone soonest. If you are unhappy with the personal who diagnosed you, tell that person to refer you to a colleague now!

Were you just diagnosed with "anxiety" or a specific type? If you don't feel the diagnosis really describes you, you should try to get a second opinion about it. Many people have many different types of anxiety disorders. Something that may be similar to your case could be GAD and social anxiety (which I have both). I am no professional, but if you want someone to talk to about it, just PM me. Hope this helps .

Really it's a dx of "anxiety", that's why pdoc has on my records. Although we talk about the paranoia and the difficulty talking to people, he never has responded like its a big issue for me. He says its likely related to my bipolar and the meds I take for ADD. I don't think that's the case as my meds have stayed the same the anxiety is always been there, its gotten worse if anything =/

Ya, I would suggest getting a second opinion/someone else. Most pdocs would know that anxiety disorders are very common with AD/HD, especially GAD and social anxiety. I think its a 10-15% chance. Not super sure, but. I don't really know what's common with bipolar though other than AD/HD...

I wouldn't want my pdoc to dismiss symptoms I have at all, saying whatever. As an example, social anxiety is common in people with AD/HD because of how they seem to fit "out of place" with everyone (sorry if that was written badly). This can cause lower self-esteem and anxiety around other people.

Anyways, hope this helps How do you know which anxiety is which and good luck.
