Sorry, my real question was too long. So is it possible for someone that had a panic attack several times in one area cause them to have panic attacks whenever that situation happened even though it is not fearful? Sorry if I phrased this really badly, but I don't know how to phrase it.
Anyways, what has been happening is that there was this particular piece that I would play in my music class that always caused me panic attacks. Now, that piece is over, but I still get panic attacks if I play my instrument in the same room. Has this been because of the same exposure about 3-4 times a week for about 2 months? Has anyone else have the same issue? This is the first time something like this has happened to me. Thanks for the response . __________________ Join my social group about mental health awareness! Yes, absolutely. It can start happening regularly after the first time because you anticipate it. You start fearing it will happen again. What you need to do is MAKE yourself go to that area. If you don't, you will start avoiding it, and this can happen with other areas as well. In other words, if you have a panic attack in a certain place, and it happens more than once, your mind starts fearing it just as soon as you visit that place again. I used to be like this in grocery stores and movie theatres after I had a horrible panic attack in both places. But I had to force myself to keep going. Sometimes it was all I could do not to run out the door! But if you stick it out, you'll find you are no more likely to have a panic attack in that spot as anywhere else.
