Lately, the last 2 weeks or so, the anxiety has been just ridiculous.

Its to the point where I cannot stop dry reaching and throwing up.

I've been prescribed 10mg of Ativan but this happens every day and I do not want to be on that dose daily.

I've been on nearly every med under the sun and have still had this symptom before.

Any ideas that DONT involve medication?

I have done -
deep breathing
variety of breathing exercises
light - vigorous exercise (usually throwing up during)
grounding
self nurture
CBT
Meditation
Distraction
Pilates
Cooking
And my go to strategy - spending time with my pets.

Theres more but I am sick as right now and it makes me hopeless thinking of all the things that fail.
Hugs from:

Have you tried singing a song in your head? I used to throw up everyday, sometimes more than once, because of anxiety. Singing a song sometimes helps me focusing elsewhere. Breathing exercises NEVER worked for me in this case, I need something to take the place of the "omg, I'm gonna throw up!", "I can't do this!" voices.

When I have to meet new people or there's any expectation involving seeing people I can't stop coughing, but the song thing keeps me from throwing up.

hi Supanova

As Popuri suggested singing a song in your head might work for you. also. The only other thing is antinausea medication that might stop you throwing up. Humming or singing is a great mood lifter in any case. I hope and pray this does improve for you in the future. Take care. Have a really great day. God bless and best wishes from your friend Francis

Thankyou for the response. Unfortunately I have tried singing in my head, I know the entire sing a long episode of buffy and go through that continuously to no effect.

I woke up this morning and within 20 minutes I was throwing up. I hadn't even got out of bed yet!

I'd love some maxalon, that's what they did for me years ago. I have to get in to see Meds pdoc I guess. I just hoped there was something I hadn't tried.

Please be aware I use all of these techniques daily over months and years, so it's not a once off try.

Thankyou for your kind responses
