My doctor put me on it three days ago. I have not had more than four hours sleep since SEPT. We figure anxiety is stopping me from sleeping. On .5mg three times a day. Don't feel any different nor sleeping better. What does Ativan feel like?

When I first started taking it it gave me some euphoria and life looked suddenly great. This goes away quickly though and what it does is just numb the anxiety. I suspect many people end up addicted because they chase that feeling.

It's possible Ativan isn't the right medication for you then. You could try asking for Valium or Klonopin instead, as a temporary fix to get through this hurdle.

Yes perhaps but he won't switch until we've given this a try first

There is Kava and phenibut, but I would recommend you do some research on them before buying. Most other herbs are pretty ineffective.

Have you tried Seroquel? It's an anti-psychotic drug, it puts me to sleep very well. I used to need 150mg of benadryl, so sleep has never come easy for me.

We tried trazadone and seroquel separately of course. Both made me feel drugged up for days.
