I've been suffering from anxiety for a while now and it only seems to be getting worse, and on top of the anxiety I have depression. I have been seeing a therapist and I was recently prescribed Prozac. My anxiety has gotten to the point where I don't ever want to drive or go inside places by myself, and I especially hate drive thrus, and I have no idea why. Hanging out with friends is even terrifying, and I keep getting these thoughts that everyone is going to stop loving me or wanting to be around me and I feel worthless.

How long ago did you start taking Prozac? The first two weeks or so can make you feel worse than you did before.

It might still be too soon to tell if the drug will work. If by week 5 you're still in bad shape I'd see about trying something else. It can take a while to find something that actually helps. In the meantime you could try asking for a temporary medication to get you through like clonazepam.

Just saying that I feel great sympathy for you. I can barely drive anywhere alone or even with my husband in the car. Drive thrus don't bother me for some odd reason.

I hope you feel better soon.

I suggest thinking about perhaps grabbing a CBT book and working out some strategies. It has been mostly helpful for me. Berfore I entered the program I was basically confined to my house.

I am so sorry that you are going through this. My anxiety is horrible but I am very grateful that I do not have depression accompanying it. Listen to what the wise ones before me said and just remember that your people will still love you just as you would still love them no matter what they were going through!
