Does anyone else have this problem?: There are times when I'll go through periods of just not taking my meds. I know it's not good, I know that I need to have a schedule as to when I take meds, but sometimes I don't take them...
I'll go for a week or two when my mood gets low, my depression and anxiety spikes, and I honestly forget to take my meds. I generally don't eat or sleep on a schedule... maybe I spend too much time in my head... and I forget to take my meds or I just don't care. I've been having a hard time recently, I moved to a new town... I've had to get a new doctor, find a new therapist and psychologist... and it's all been stressing me out Even as I type this now I can feel the anxierty raising, the tightness in my chest... Sorry I'm rambling, but I could use some advice or general understanding... I hope you can understand what I mean... any help or kind words are appreciated. |

This happens to me on occasion. I downloaded an app that reminds me to take my pills at a certain time, and that's at least cut down on the forgetfulness aspect. But sometimes I just go on a streak where I get out of the habit.
Sorry you're going through a stressful time!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yes, right now going through some insurance issues, and if I can't get Medicaid to drop my Dads insurance company from their system I won't be able to get my meds refilled, so I've been not talking my meds in anticipation that this will happen. It isn't a good idea, and has sent me into an agitated depression/mixed episode, but idk what else to do...
Sorry you're going through hard times right now... Hugs ![]()

I do this a lot...way too much. And I don't even have an excuse, I just don't like taking them. I have alarms set on my phone so I don't forget, but sometimes I choose to ignore them. It's been a few days now since I've taken my meds...trying to convince myself to take them again before it goes on too long. It never really ends well and yet I still keep doing it

I have my medication blister packed. It makes pills easier to take and less of a hastle to organize. I can also cut out a 'bubble' to take with me. Keeping the large card out and visible also encourages me to take them. Finally, I have alarms set as reminders.

I do. I get my downs in addition to regular(ugh) depression. Then I forget or I can't be bothered.
It's a huge mistake with horrible consequences. But you did just remind me and now I will take them. Thank you. |

Not taking your meds is not going to make you better you need to stay on your meds and talk to your doctor if they are making you feel worse. I have been a person who stay n get of my meds in I always have to be hospitalized because of it so please stay on your meds. hugs

Taking our meds regularly is a good way to keep us on some form of even keel. Life in itself is hard enough. I found it hard to remember is I had taken them or not. Chances are I may have taken them twice? For the past few years I get them made up by the chemist in a webster pack. This means that I can pick up a full week of medications in a packet marked with the day of week, morning, lunch, dinner and bedtime.
Makes it so much easier to know if I have taken it. |
