Last September I met with a new therapist after a devastating blow to my personal life that I am still recovering from a year later. She ended up diagnosing me with GAD. When I told her I previously had a PD NOS she told me that GAD was a sign I had healed as I no longer had interpersonal problems.

I no longer see that therapist and I no longer have that dx either. Now I have mood disorder NOS and emotional stress on top of the PTSD I've had for 10 years.

The reason for the GAD dx was an acute response to exceptional stress. The exceptional stress is still present in my life however it's no longer a secret so I think that's why I no longer have GAD.

Has anyone else had a GAD morph into a mood disorder NOS?
