I recognize that one's mileage may vary when it comes to the efficacy/side effects of medication, but getting a sense of others' experience would be helpful for me.

Seroquel worked okay for me. However I gained a lot of weight and it increased my appetite so I was taken off it.

Hi, Seroquel caused me to gain a lot of weight. It helps me sleep, but that's about all it does. It's a medication I kind of wish I had never tried. That said, it does help some people.

SEroquel was the first med I went on when diagnosed as bipolar. It made me feel a little sluggish during the day at first but that wore off. It did make me gain a little weight but I'm in the normal range of body mass index. It helps with anxiety attacks and it works great for sleep. I went from restless tossing and turning, waking up to early and not being able to fall back to sleep to sleeping through night and feeling good in the morning. It made my blood sugar go higher so now I take metformin. (Diabetes med)

I tried many other AP meds, but none of them worked as well and had side effects I couldn't tolerate.

All that being said, what works for me may not work for you. every one is different and has different reactions to meds. It all trial and error to find what works for you.
