Greetings, I've been having some problems and curious to know if it's anxiety. The last 2.5 years has been up and down, not to mention so much has happened. I have bipolar disorder and have been hospitalized 7 times within the aforementioned time period. Good news, it's been a year and a few months since my last hospitalization but now I'm having other issues that I've never dealt with before and would like to know if anxiety is the main driver. Some of the problems include:
- Afraid of change(like fearful of it, have to take baby steps in order for me to change. Used to be able to jump right in and take the bull by the horn) - Overwhelmed by learning (I used to be a fast learner before I was hospitalized so many times. My appetite for learning has never ceased but it takes more mental energy for me to learn something.) - Low reading comprehension (This really frustrates me. I obsess about this all the time) - Think worst case scenario - Attached to my parents (I mean literally! I moved back in with my parents and have to be around them all the time. I can't even work from my office because of the need to be around my parents so I work from the couch next to where my parents sit) - Procrastination (The fear of failure is real y'all) - Obsessing about death, fear of dying So does this sound like anxiety? Would really love to know your thoughts. How can I overcome these problems? I just started seeing a new therapist so she can help me hash out some of these things but is there anything I can do on my own in the meantime to conquer these problems? |

Hi, I experience most of what you've described and I know I have severe anxiety.

I've got a few of those and I do believe anxiety contributes but in my case there is a lot more to it. I hope you find something helpful.

Are you able to see a therapist? This would be better answered by a professional. I have GAD but I show other symptoms.

Yeah, I can definitely relate to a lot of these. Are you on meds along with the therapy? Aside from those 2 things, mindfulness helps sometimes for me.

It can be anxiety related, so that's why its important to see a doctor who can give you a correct diagnosis. There are quite a few disorders under the umbrella of "anxiety". Hugs.
