I have been able to control my panic attacks for awhile, but recently my appendix burst and I was hospitalized. I sleep on my stomach, it seems to soothe me, but of course I couldn't with the surgical cut there and having an iv in my arm I felt extremely nervous as I could barely move. I had an extended panic attack throughout those three days. To top it of they wouldn't give me any sedatives and the morphine didn't make a dent in my distress. I started screaming uncontrollably through the nights and days, while the nurses chastized me and told me to be quite. One actuually yelled at me. I understand that the general medical community has no idea about mental disorders, but I am still upset about this. Now as I am older and my health will start fading, I am scared to death to end up in the hospital again. Anyone else have stories about heartless hospital personal or had a similar experience?
