HI, new to this site, been feeling like I have not got the drive to get out and do my work (I have my own business). But I really do have to do it, and it is not work that I normally dislike. I feel guilty because my partner can work through everything! How can I get some more focus back? I have just recently put a name to my problems with anxiety, so I am open to any good thoughts! Thanks.

I have the same problem as you and the person in the other posting of feeling overwhelmed by everything I have to do, sometimes to the extent that I can't do anything for days or weeks. I understand this in myself, but logically it makes no sense, because if there are things that need doing there's no point shutting down!

I also use lists. Somehow I panic less when things are written down rather than spinning around in my head. I can cross things off to see what I've achieved. And it's easier to prioritise. I don't always manage this, but you're also meant to make time in the day for relaxation, switching off from work and doing nice things for yourself so that you don't burn out.

If this doesn't help or you feel like you can't overcome the lack of drive, you'll probably need professional help. Meds can help reduce anxiety, and do you feel depressed at all - losing your drive sounds a bit like depression. If you feel like you need somone to talk to about things going on in your life, you could find a therapist.

Psychotherapy would be really helpful. Have you considered finding a therapist to talk with?
