Hello, its been like a while im always thinking of life in general, im always thinking about how im getting old, im just 23 years old and im always going back to old memories and im always thinking about how fast those 23 years went and im afraid of getting older, the feeling of not being a teenager anymore! i have more responsibilities to do and everytime i think about my future im being afraid of the whole idea , thinking of Life in general is making me panicking, i feel like im drowning , it feels so bad when i think about my future and about losing my beloved ones one day and the thing is that we have to deal with it when we lose our loved ones. Its been like almost 2 months i havent thought about this subject but unfortunately today all tjose thoughts came back to my head and i feel so down! I sonetimes feel like i wont make it i wont be able to live alot because of my depression and my thoughts.
Hugs from:

Hello boudzj: I'm sorry you are feeling so down. As a person who really is OLD... I guess all I can say is one grows into it. But I certainly understand how you feel. I can recall feeling similarly many years ago. I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

I realize ration thought doesn't always work, but there is only one alternative to growing old.

Make what you can out of each, day, week, & year. Try to bring joy to those around you. There are those nearby that could use words of encouragement.

Why not start a new chapter & spread some cheer? You have a long way to go. I'd start with some soul searching then morph your outlook somewhat.

Work on a support network too. Just some thoughts.
Thanks for this!

Growing older isn't so bad. You still have a lot of fulfilling events to look forward to. Each phase of life has it's own rewards.

If you think life is speeding by at 23, wait until you hit 50.

Try to live each day as it comes. That's really all we can do.
