Hello, this is my first post on this forum so I'll probably get a lot of things wrong. But anyways, since probably a year now I've been experiencing random (most of the time) moments/episodes of feeling a burning sensation in my chest/stomach, as well as sweating a lot and a pounding heart usually for no reason, other times something has happened that should not affect me so badly. So basically I am wondering if these are anxiety attacks or have anything to do with anxiety or something, or if its something else?

Hello Turts: Well... as you probably realize... we here on PC cannot diagnose you. Our purpose here is provide one another with support as well as to share information & experiences. Sure... what you're experiencing could be related to anxiety / stress. But it could potentially be something physiological too. The best thing to do is to get yourself checked out medically to make sure there's nothing going on with you physically. Then, if that all checks out okay, perhaps consider seeking the services of a mental health professional... a counselor or therapist, to begin with at least, with whom you can explore what might be causing the episodes you describe.

I see this is your first post here on PC. So... to PsychCentral… from the Skeezyks! May the time you spend here be of benefit.

PsychCentral is a great place to get information as well as support for mental health issues. The more you post, & reply to other members’ posts, the more a part of the community you will become. Plus there are social groups you can join & chat rooms where you’ll be able to connect with other PC members in real time (once your first 5 posts have been reviewed & approved.) Lots of great stuff! So please keep posting!

What are your thoughts like when these symptoms happen?

Make a list of what's going on and take it to a doctor.

Have you noticed any events or thoughts that happen before these sensations come on? Your pdoc would be the one to diagnose you. Welcome to PC. Good luck.
