What medications work for anxiety? I need some suggestions. The place I go to that treat my MH issues won't prescribe Benzos. What else works?

Yeah I can't get benzos either. A couple are buspar/busperione and propranolol. I take propranolol but it doesn't relieve all the symptoms, it just takes the edge off.

I'm sorry your doctor won't prescribe benzos. You might also post this in the psychiatric medication forum as well. Good luck. I hope you find something that really helps you.

I am glad my doctor prescribes a benzo to help with my panic and anxiety. You could try a ssri or some AP's are good for anxiety.

I think you should leave it up to your mental health care team to figure out what is appropriate. Self diagnosis and medication shopping could be hazardous.
