So, I have a psychiatrist appointment this weekend. I need to get on a different medication. I'm on Luvox right now but my OCD is getting worse and I'm getting panic attacks for the first time in years. I've been tried on just about everything except Paxil and am wondering what other people's experiences with it have been. Any info is helpful.

Thanks.
P.S. sorry for double-posting (here and OCD) but I really need help on this.

Paxil did not help me at all. It sent me into mania.

I was on Paxil for a couple of years, many years ago. It was helpful for depression. I don't recall that it did much to treat anxiety.

I was on it for anxiety and it helped a lot. Went off of it and was medication free for years...was percribed something else and nothing...so went off of it and don't take anything

Well. I suggested Paxil and my pdoc vetoed it He's afraid I wouldn't tolerate it well. He wants me to try something like Ambilify which I am not a fan of that option. So we are at a bit of a stalemate for the next 3 weeks until I see him again.

Thanks for the replies all the same

Everybody's brain is different and what may work for someone may not work for someone else. Even the Pdocs are using a trial and error approach. I do hope though that you find the medication that is going to work for you in the least period of time. Hugs xx

Ativan, as needed, is the only med that helps me with anxiety. Paxil helped my depression many years ago. Hope you feel better soon All74.

Paxil helped for both anxiety and depression. Like every other SSRI, though, it stopped working.
