I recently paid what I think was too much for a repair. At the time, I had to get the repair done and I didn't want to wait to find someone else. I don't know if what I paid was normal for the job, but I continue to feel anxiety and regret around the loss of money even a week after I paid. I probably should have waited and found someone that did charge so much.

Putting it behind me is difficult. I can't do anything about it now, so I am not sure why I still have anxiety around it.

HI Yzen ,

Man , I hate it when that happens , I hear you. I own a 14 & a 1/2 year old Honda Civic EX ( dead mint , with less than 60K ) plus a 35 year old mobile home , I mean geez , I am always getting taken to the cleaners , I feel for yeh , really.

But the best thing to do , is try to but it behind you , sure it hard , real hard.

There have been times I would go food shopping and think did I over pay ? , I would stop on the side of the road and check my wallet to make sure , I could not even wait to get home.

So I know where you are coming from , it sux , but everything cost so much , I mean geez.

Here`s what I would do , grab a snack and chat , get your mind off of it , you really can`t do anything about it anyway.

I hope U feel better and U R not alone , me , I am real clean !! LOL

Later

KP.

Thanks, Keyplayer. That is good advice to get my mind off it and move on. (and, stay clean LOL)

I tend to let regrets and losses trigger my anxiety. I have to remind myself that nothing really 'belongs' to anyone forever and we can only move forward. Why let what I lost in the past bother me now? I need to let go of it.

I’m sorry this happened to you and that you are feeling anxiety about it. You can’t go back and change it now but you’ve gained valuable knowledge for the future. Try to focus on moving forward and not spending time or energy on what you can’t change. Sending big hugs.

I know just what you mean. Last week I picked up a prescription which cost me equivalent of 2wks groceries. I have always gotten my medication free because of my benefits so this was a big shock. Everyone says I should have refused it but I am not the type for confrontation. So I reluctantly paid for it. Now I am kicking myself for taking it. I am sure my doctor could have represcribed some alternative.

That is exact pattern I go through. In the moment, I agree to the charge and then later kick myself (over and over). I've got to be easier on myself and stop the second guessing. And, you shouldn't kick yourself either.
