This is going to sound weird, but I have an obsessive fear that anxiety is going to take over my mind and ruin a special moment. What happens is whenever there is a special moment coming up and I focus on having fun the thought of anxiety pops up and I panic. This then leads me to dwelling on my anxiety and I can't make it go away, which then leads me to more panic about anxiety ruining a special moment. It's horrible and I'm worried that I won't manage this effectively.

I sympathize. This happens to me during holidays and other special events. You could look into some self soothing techniques or anxiety reduction techniques to help nip this in the bud when it starts to happen. Kind of like when the anxiety kicks in, you immediately apply your techniques. I use before, during and after statements, the Calm app and take a Valium. Good luck. Sending big hugs.

Thanks. What techniques do you use? And does the anxiety eventually decrease?
