Hi. I've been suffering really bad anxiety for the past several months. One of the symptoms I'm having is pushing my tongue hard against the roof of my mouth all day. I'm pretty sure it's anxiety or stress related. I asked my psychiatrist about it. She increased my Klonopin but that hasn't helped at all. I asked if it might be a lingering effect of the tardive dyskinesia I had. She said no. She seems puzzled by it and wants me to see a neurologist. I can't get an appointment for over 2 months. This is unbearable. I wake up with it and have it all day and all night and nothing helps. I know this is weird, but has anyone else experienced tongue tension like this?

I hope you get some answers.

I’m literally doing this right now. But I recently got a retainer. I guess mine is part habit part anxiety.

I am also currently anxious and am waiting for my Ativan to kick in. It sucks.
