I feel the same way about winter....it sort of freaks me out for some inexplicable reason.
Wear warmest clothes, take hot showers, keep on plenty of indoor lighting (lights everywhere!) and for god's sakes, grab a friend and try to take a short vaca to Florida!
Puts a different perspective on things...changes in latitude...changes in attitude!

sorry you are not looking forward to winter and the snow, but shorley your alters wouldnt want there body to suffer, so what about hot meals like stews and soup and hot drinks a extra blanket and while watching tv a fluffy blanket to curl up in
or while you are on your own put your dressing gown over your clothes but plz try and keep warm
as you are not allowed boots in the house a extra pair of socks and a hot water bottle or such like and could try putting a pair of socks on your hands and a extra jumper or tshirt

Find something your alters never "knew" about so are less likely to object to; warm showers, mexican food :-) and pictures/posters of warm islands? Buy a book of Paul Gauguin's pictures or a Gidgit movie of surfing in California. Buy one of those "fireplace" DVD's http://www.amazon.com/Ambient-Fire-U...dp/B000BVB33G/
