I have never been formally diagnosed with PTSD but have symptoms that might be consistent with it- mostly recurring dreams. Every night, it seems that I go back to some place where I have worked. Quite often I am behind in what I am supposed to be doing or lost and confused. This is every job I have ever had since I was 18. I am 55 and retired now. Does anyone else experience this? Thank you.
Thanks for this!

Hi,

No, I can't say I have that particular issue but there's a dream interpretation website I like that says: To dream that you are at your former work suggests that there is an old lesson that you need to learn and apply to your current situation.

Maybe there's some relevance to your recurring dream.
Thanks for this!

Thank you, I'll check that out later in the day.

PS- Would it be against forum rules to send me the name of that site or a link through PM? There are a lot of dream interpretation sites. Thanks again

I have working dreams too. I think the shift to retirement (or disability, in my case) tends to bring these things up. For some reason I'm happy in these dreams, so it may mean that I need to play more with my hobbies, or be more "productive" (like volunteering and such).
Thanks for this!

Former jobs and high school.... I think I've been to school on graduation day hundreds of times in my dreams. I always dream that I'm there as people are dressing for graduation but I am aware that I've already graduated and don't understand why I'm there. I went to college in my late 30's, did much better than in HS, and graduated in style. I thought that would put an end to the dreams. Instead, HS and college are getting jumbled together now and I just never seem to get out. It's the same with job dreams. They usually aren't disturbing. I just feel that they are telling me something about unresolved issues, or maybe reminding me of the trouble I had because of mental health issues. Will I ever get out?

How is this dream related to your PTSD? I think that the answer is hidden in there. You may want to remember the feelings you had in dream and their possible connection to your PTSD.
