Hi, this is my first time posting here so please let me know if I'm doing something wrong. I'm getting ready to hopefully graduate college in a few weeks and my anxiety is almost unbearable.

I got diagnosed with lupus at the beginning of the semester and so that has made everything so much worse when it comes to dealing with feeling able to go to class and get my assignments done and now I'm so concerned that I won't graduate and I'll end up disappointing everyone.

I'm not able to sleep anymore and I'm constantly one step away from having a panic attack. I don't know what to do anymore

Welcome Bri
I’m sorry about your diagnosis. It’s understandable that you are going through a tough time because you are stressed and trying to get through graduation in one piece is enough stress, let alone getting a lupus diagnosis.
I’m glad you’re here to connect with awesome people who find strength from the support of others in similar and opposite situations.
My suggestion would be try and take it one day and one step at a time. Research and learn all you can about the treatments and holistic approach to treating lupus. Listening to hypnotherapy videos at night help me relax and forget about my worries. You are almost there with graduation, so just keep doing what you gotta do. If you need to talk with professors about your situation, that could help with missed assignments or other stressors.
Self care is essential. Do things to rejuvenate your mind and spirit. Xo
Thanks for this!

I do have an app that I use for guided meditation! It helps me a lot when I have the time or actually think about using it! I'll look into hypnotherapy though.

I'm really glad that I found this place. It's helped a lot.

I think the people who would be "disappointed" if you don't graduate need to cut you some slack. (Including yourself) Stress can make your lupus worse, so it's very important to relax.

Anxiety and excitement run along similar neural pathways. So instead of worrying about things, try getting excited with each assignment done. Imagine yourself reaching for your diploma with a sense of confidence. You've made it this far, so you can do this.
