Here is another Anxiety Support Newsletter that I have been posting from time to time. Thought that this one was a good one.
Shedding Shadows We all have shadows and light. Our negativity's are our shadows and the positivity is our light. We need to shed the negativity's in our lives. We need to shed those shadows. Get Rid of them. Wherever we go we take our shadows with us. We can't just wish them away. We have to begin getting rid of each shadow, separately. It takes time to do this, but it can certainly be done. It all starts with just one step at a time. I know a woman who can find negativity in anything and everything. If it's a sunny day she will complain about something. If it's a nasty day she will complain about something. No matter what the circumstances she can most always find something negative to say about it. It's frustrating to be around people like her. If you are in a wonderful mood and are having a terrific day she can bring you down very quickly. I avoid people like that, now. It's not worth losing my joy and peace to be with such people. Once you begin shedding each shadow it will be one less dark shadow following you around. It won't be that long and you will be seeing light as opposed to dark shadows. These shadows will not magically disappear. You have to remove them yourself. Take one negative thought or feeling and work with it until it's no longer negative. Make light out of that shadow and then go to the next shadow and work on that one. Always keep in mind 'cause and effect' that I explained to you in a previous newsletter. If you think negative thoughts, you will produce negativity in your life. Who needs that? Saying your affirmations each day, as many times as you can in a day, will help you so much. I love to say "I can do anything I want, whenever I want, without feeling fear. No fear." It really does help me a lot. Another affirmation I like is "I am me and that's enough." As you know, I'm not any particular religion, but I do have mala beads. They are prayer beads and some people call them 'worry beads'. They call them worry beads because when they are worried or upset they can carry them with them and just rub the beads. There's something very soothing about rubbing the stones. I do believe in a Higher Power and I use the beads as I pray. I love them. They are very soothing. Just thought I'd throw that in there as it's another way to calm yourself or a way to concentrate on something besides negative thoughts. Start shedding those self-imposed shadows and begin doing it today. GOAL FOR THE WEEK Write down all the negative things you carry around with you. Begin deleting those negative things/shadows today. Really work on that. INSPIRATION We have met the enemy and he is us. ~~Pogo~ "Following your feelings will lead you to their source. Only through emotions can you encounter the force field of your own soul." Gary Zukav, from 'The Seat of the Soul' Tips For The Week. Take walks and collect some of the beautiful leaves that are changing color. Bring them home and place them in a basket or a large jar. Do some walking meditation. Now, that's relaxing! AFFIRMATIONS Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better. I believe and trust in myself. I find joy in my life each day. I am a giving and loving person. I can do anything I choose to do. I have no regrets from the past. I will live and stay in the moment. Website: http://www.geocities.com/suehulen/sheddingshadows.html ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism. Great post, Sundance! I espcially like the affirmation "I am me and that's enough." I say it a bit differently though; "I am me and I am enough!"
Love Gary Zukav, too!! "Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt" --Shakespeare __________________ Psalm 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. |

but there is a Shadow that we should not even try to dispel... and I fear these shadows you speak of are connected to it... or the myth of it and the ego and all things the ego tells us or such...
I don't know... maybe my depression is irked that you appear to make everything so easy to do and IRL is just ain't so... shedding shadows well, how would we know there is light then? meditation is a true way to connect to the Source __________________ |

Hi Skybark,
This newsletter was for anxiety, when there is Depression it's a whole different ball game in my opinion, anxiety you can still do daily things, when Depression hits it's so hard even to get out of bed, and that's the shadow that is hard to shed, but it can be... in time. ~Sundance~ "Never react emotionally to criticism.
