It takes time and effort to overcome these things. I used to feel lonely when I was younger, as I thought I needed someone around at all times.
Now, there’s so many things to do solo, I enjoy my alone time. It’s all in the way you look at it sometimes. Spend time getting to like yourself and find hobbies that you like. It just sort of works out that others with similar interests are around. I volunteer with animals. That’s a great way to not be lonely. Sandy |

Being introverted is not a bad thing. People said the same about me when I was younger and it bothered me a lot. I was shy and I was quiet, but that's just how I'm made. And it's okay. Try to connect to people through common interests. You'll find it easier to talk to people if you have a subject or interest that you both are interested in.

I'm the same way. I find that I say five words and they go on for minutes...
I do a lot by myself, but would like help from others every once in a while. I just find it hard to keep friends. |

I think shyness and introversion are GREAT qualities.
I’m a shy introvert with terrible people skills and I don’t really care anymore. I blurt out the wrong things quite a bit and most of the time I am able to chalk it up to my own quirky nature. It is what it is. If people have an issue with me then I would rather not be around them. The right people appreciate me as I am. Introverts value quality conversation over small talk and are great listeners. Good people appreciate that so don’t waste your great qualities on people who don’t care. ![]() |

A great book is Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking by Susan Cain. You might enjoy it.

Well, I was - and am still in that situation, it's slowly getting better though.
I think shyness can come from a lack of self-confidence, and lack of self-confidence from a lack of self-esteem. So maybe you could try to work on your self-esteem ^^ (you can find useful articles here on PC, also here : https://www.therapistaid.com/therapy...lf-esteem/none).

There are so many things I wish I never said. Being shy isn't all that bad in moderation.

The most helpful thing to remember is that loneliness is a feeling, and not a fact...
