I haven't been officially diagnosed with anything and am seeing my first therapist in (hopefully) a month from now. But I heard it may be anxiety related. It would make sense. I've had issues with anxiety for a long time, especially socially. If I can't relax during the day, how can I relax at night?
I don't have too much of a problem falling asleep. My problem more so lies in sleep maintenance. I wake up at least 3 times a night most days of the week. I've had this problem since I was younger, but it's gotten worse. I toss and turn way more often. Sometimes I wake up nauseous. Or wake up and never fall back asleep. I'm not sure what to do to help this. Anyone relate or have tips? |

Well... I always wake up 2 or 3 times a night. Sometimes I can't go back to sleep either. What I do is get up & do walking meditation... sometimes for as much as an hour or more. We live in a one-level townhome. So I walk from the front to the back around-&-around our dark & quiet unit. I notice as each foot touches the floor. Thoughts come-&-go. I allow them to arise & fade at their own pace. I hear the sounds of the city off in the distance. When I return to bed, I typically go back to sleep with no problem.
