I'm just wondering if anyone on this forum is not anxious about death

I find it really wierd that I'm not anxious about it. everyone is a bit, right?

to me it's like.. death is just a part of life. it happens

but then putting that in to context, if someone said, going to the dentist is a part of life, people would freak out- because so many people are cared of the dentist.

this is what I'm saying

somehow not being scared of death doesn't feel.... well, normal

am I the only one?

Personally, I look forward to death (for the record I'm not about to hurry it along though)

I think it’s scary. I don’t think about it often, but when I really think about it I have conflicted and anxious feelings. I’m guessing this would be normal. Being preoccupied and thinking about it a lot might be a different issue though.

I feel like this as well. Natural death is fine with me but I occasionally fear incase I might be murdered as this would be scary and painful

I'm scared of becoming a vegetable or dying slowly and painfully but of death itself doesn't scare me.

but are you scared of what will happen

like how you will die or what it will feel like

I'm looking forward to death too (in terms of not being here), my main thought was about not being anxious about method of death or what it will feel like

slightly concerning- knowing it could be the most painful thing ever and I wouldn't give a ****

the only thing that scares me about death is what happens after I'm dead, if I died today for example, what would happen to furbaby Tigger?

I guess that thought crosses my mind- seeing as I don't have family support, what will happen to all my stuff?

will it just sitt their, in my room, collecting dust and becoming forgotten?

I suppose that's why it's so importan to make a will.. I mean I've not made one yet, but what I have done is expressed wishes about my funeral and how I'd like to die (like what I want done with my body after death)

Personally, the idea of living forever scares me more than shuffling off the mortal coil does - I like having a beginning & an end, whereas infinity just makes my head hurt.

i take comfort in having had a couple of "out of body, near-death" experiences, which were both different. i suspect that our deeply held 'beliefs' affect our experiences, whether in this material 'reality' or in some other 'reality of consciousness'. i find the buddhist explanation of life and death and reincarnation to be the most satisfying one. so, no, i'm not afraid of death.

that being said, however, i must admit that my body has a mind of its own, and does not go gently into that good night, but fights with all its might to survive.

I'm more scared of sickness than death. I guess I don't really think about death that much, so no, it doesn't make me anxious.

I used to dread being emortal.

I used to think, well... I'm not going to be allowed to die until I get it right (and since I can't get it right, I'll be here forever)

but my body is almost ****ed anyway

bad treatment

I think i'll kill it before it kills me

I worry about what will lead to it, but death itself and whatever comes after has never really troubled me. I HOPE it's just peace and quiet. I suppose my only fear about it is if reincarnation is what happens, because I DO NOT want to come back in any form.
