I've been suffering from some type of random episodes at night when trying to get to sleep. They started a few months ago. Back in May I found out I had a DVT and PE blood clots in lungs and was in the hospital. This was the second time I had blood clots in my life. I also had an AFIB episode last year.
Anyway, before I knew I had blood clots, I was having issues going to bed with my CPAP machine. My machine kept showing I was stopping breathing at night. Central Apneas. I bought an oximeter to check my oxygen levels and it kept showing my oxygen levels would drop to mid 80's%. I kept having major anxiety episodes and my arms and hands would get warm at night when I tried to sleep. I would go a night without sleep because I was so scared to go to sleep since my oxygen would drop. At the time, I didn't know it was blood clots causing this issue until one day at work I couldn't breathe. So I was taken to hospital and put on blood thinners. All got better in the next months and I was finally able to lay down to go to sleep without any anxiety. This lasted for about three months. But last night I stayed up until about midnight and started feeling bad so I got ready for bed. Laid down and was having some extreme anxiety or something. My arms and hands got warm and I had an extreme bad feeling come across me. I swear it feels like something wrong with my heart but I recently had echocardiogram and other tests on my heart and cardiologist said all is fine. I took a 3mg of melatonin and finally I was able to go asleep. This morning I waked up and still didn't feel refreshed. I'm not sure if I'm having side effect from my heart medicine for afib, called Multaq or what is going on. But I haven't really felt myself since I started that damn medicine last year. And my cardiologists that I've seen claim the medicine shouldn't be causing these symptoms. No doctor can find out what is going on. My sleep doctor says my machine readings look good for my CPAP machine. Ice been to a neurologist, cardiologist, electrophysiologist, hematologist, and doctor for my thyroid issues, psychiatrist, psychologist. I'm not sure what doctor is left that I can see? |

Was after midnight, later for you than what's your usual? The body flushing can be an anxiety symptom. Then mix in some physical health conditions with disrupted sleep patterns and some unusual physiological things can begin to occur and the bodies stress mixes with the emotions stress.
At least you are lined up with a medical team for treatment. ![]() |
