when you're surfing the internet and you get little pop- up windows that advertise stuff (prizes, or free software, what ever)

this used to not bother me so much, but over I'd say the last few months I've had other adverts show up, and almost like "demands", to install a peace of software- or if I didn't, I couldn't continue.

I didn't, exited of course because I don't trust those adverts.

yesterday I saw one that alerted me to an apparent threat on my computer, however I have sinced checked and their isn't any threats/ viruses/ anything else suspicious, and I guess it's got me a bit anxious.. how anxious and alert do I really need to be with those adverts

—-sorry to say there really is an evil intent. They can crash yr computer. They want you to fill out a form so they can steal yr identity, get further into yr computer. They will ask u for money to pay to .”fix” yr computer. This is a common scam. You have malware or a virus. If it’s a pc, your security software isn’t adequate. Apple computers don’t have these problems. That’s one of the reasons they cost more. They are also easier to use.

The adverts are a scam. Con artists are trying to trick you so they can install viruses, spyware, etc. The best thing you can do is ignore the adverts.

I doubt it has anything to do with PC vs. Mac, and the less said about that argument the better.

The only one that had me really freaked out was one that was called a deceptive warning. I had no idea what it was but it looked way different then the others and a lot more scary. I had never seen anything like it before or since.
