I swear I am a sitting duck with a bull's eye on my head for travelling misadventures. Fortunately no tragedy has struck but things continually seem to go wrong - and yes, I fear disaster. Travelling by plane is agonisingly the worst.

I hope you have calm travels. Travel is not perfect. Even though things went wrong in the past, you managed to get through it. Know you can handle it and adjust.

Traveling is stressful. Small things go wrong. Delays happen. But it's not the end of the world. Disaster are much more rare.

I know how you feel, WhishfulThinker66. Please try to hang on. Travelling is surely stressful but it doesn't last forever. Know that it will all be over at some point. Also try to distract yourself as much as you can while travelling. You can do this! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

I hate flying and just flew from Florida to Texas. I had to take a xanax but on the way back I did not need to take anything it really was not that bad once I realized my fear was irrational. I just kept myself busy playing games on the computer.

So it has been done; and, problem after problem occured. I flew to and from Europe over the previous two weeks. Travel was an ordeal. Aircraft maintenance issues causing missed flights and chain reactions down the line for both the outbound and return travel. Lost luggage for a time too. At its worst was having to spend 24hrs+ in one airport alone. Eventually we were put up for the night but only after hours of waiting in lines. The flights themselves were horrible; poor seating, poor food, lack of comfort, and bad turbulence. It was a real test of my anxiety. This sort of thing seems to be attracted to me.
