Hey guys. I’m new here.
I have never been formally diagnosed with anxiety/panic disorder but it is evident that I have it. 6 doctors have suggested it. I was prescribed Amoxicilin and Pantoprazole for my ear infection and bloating issues. 4 days in (last night & the night befor), I started having shortness of breath at nighttime. It was so hard to breathe. It got worse when I googled my symptoms and cried. I called an ambulance because I genuinely thought I went into anaphylactic shock. They took my vitals and everything was fine. They injected me with Benadryl too. When I got into the ambulance, all my itching/rash on my shoulder subsided. I got to the hospital , the doctor did a physical check up, and discharged me. I got home, went to sleep, woke up, and here the shortness of breath is again. I stopped taking the antibiotics, and I’m still somehow convinced I’m going into anaphylactic shock. This is not the first time my Er visits have turned into nothing. 3 weeks ago, I was at the mall with my mom , eating, when all of a sudden I couldn’t breathe. I went to the ER , they did a chest x Ray, CBC (blood test), and an ECG, and confirmed nothing was wrong & suggest seeing a psychiatrist. I think I’m a hypochondriac. As of now, I’m still itching all over, still can’t manage to breathe properly as I feel like someone is stepping on my chest, and I’m having random pains everywhere. Someone reassure me that I’m not gonna die lol. |

You are safe and it will be ok. Try breathing to this animation.
![]() Have your doctors considered you might be allergic to Amoxicilin or Pantoprazole? I just wonder because of the itching and other symptoms. I don't know your history and am not a doctor, but one of my relatives has reactions to certain drugs which affected her breathing and caused skin irritations. I hope you feel better. ![]() |

Amoxicillin gave me hives, so I can't take it anymore. I can take other antibiotics though.
I think having trouble breathing (and even chest pains) can be symptoms of a panic attack. Seeing a psychiatrist about this is probably a good idea. |

No, because this is my first time taking it. I'm panicking right now because I believe that since I stopped taking it, I might develop resistant bacteria. As of now, I have this intense burning in my chest, throat, nose and especially my head. I read that sinus infections cause this, and sometimes it can spread to your brain and cause death ! I took Tums to help the chest burning but it's not going away !! I can't go to the hospital bc I literally just got back this morning. Is stress causing this? I also had hot flashes earlier. The doctor at the ER didn't check for anything and said I was fine. Like I said, 3 weeks ago I got an ECG/chest x-ray/blood tests done and they all came out fine. Why is my head literally burning? (it feels like the same sensation I felt when they gave me benadryl through IV) |

I keep getting hot flashes as of now. My chest, throat, and head have burning sensations. I don't know if this Is heartburn or something else. I stopped taking the antibiotics and I'm worried that i'll develop resistant bacteria and it will lead to something deadly. My throat/head is on fire right now. I still feel like someone is stepping on my chest and I'm getting sharp pain under my left breast. I took tums to alleviate the burning in my chest but it's not working. I read something somewhere about sinus infections causing burning sensations in the head and they can also kill you?? I'm freaking out and I can't go back to the ER cuz I just got back this morning.
can stress cause this? I can't seem to calm down |
