So, I am not sure where this would fall under. For the past few months I have been having a difficult time with music going through my head when I am trying to concentrate on something else( like school or conversations). It isn't random music, usually a song stuck in my head. It isn't debilitating, but it is very annoying, and I am hoping it isn't an early sign of something else. I'm in my 40's. Any ideas would be appreciated. Everyone have a great mental health day!

I think it's pretty normal, ZipBSW73. Everyone has had that one song that got stuck in our heads. Are they songs that you have listened to recently? Arey they from your past? Either way, I wouldn't worry too much about it, although I can understand how that would be annoying to you. Unfortunately I don't have a lot of advice to give. Just try to stay away from music for a while. Hopefully it will get better with time. If you're still worried, I'd suggesto to talk to your doctor about this and see how it goes from there. Wish you good luck! Let us know how it goes. Sending many hugs to you

I have those darned things going through my head all the time. I've heard them called "ear worms". And the only thing I've found to drive them out is when they are replaced by another song.
You can try focussing your attention on them, though - sometimes that makes them stop for awhile. ![]() |

Thank you the input, I will look into it. I have found that if I really concentrate on who is speaking, it helps to cancel out any music in the background.

I appreciate the feedback, I have been really focusing on when people are speaking, and that helps to cancel it out.

Thank you all for the wonderlfully positive feedback, it is really appreciated! I have found that if I really concentrate on what people are saying, the music seems to either dim, or go away. Thanks again everyone!!!

My strategy for really zeroing in to speakers is proving pretty successful! I still have lots of music at other times, but it is manageable. It is noce to know I am not alone, and not just losing my mind. I do get concerned from time to time due to my age, and a family history of dementia/Alzheimer's. Everyone have a great mental health day!!!
