I do worry all of the time so much so people tend to call me names ,like I worry for nothing ,a warrior or best yet crazy.I cannot help it I think I was born to worry. Why is it people dont want to deal with you when worry so much? It isnt my fault I wonder what does cause us to worry? Are the chemicals in our brains that mess us up?Oh believe me I know I am messed up . I have anxieties, panic attacks, a mood disorder, bipolar, and depression Oy ya I do have agoraphobia too,I know it can cause a lot of stress and I suspect that is where my anger comes from,My mom she worried a lot even more then me.Some of my friends dont like it when I worry about them.I do try not to worry but I cannot stop. You just cannot snap your fingers and have it disappear.

I worry a lot as well, xmascarol. I don't know what the cause may be, but brain chemicals could be playing a part in it. I'm so sorry you're struggling with this as well, but like you've said, it's not your fault. I guess we just need to learn how to cope with it. I know, it isn't easy. Please don't give up. You can do this! You're strong, I'm sure of that. I believe in you. Try to hang on. Keep writing here if it helps. Feel free to PM me anytime. I'm always available if you need to talk. Sending many hugs to you

Sounds like you're referring to General Anxiety Disorder, correct?
I have mostly social anxiety myself. That can pretty much fill in my day with worry and fear. I'm sorry for your distress. Quote:

I just noticed you have over 400 posts. Are you getting any treatment for this? Are you looking for a little support with your post? Just throwing the questions out there? Venting a little? (I find it's best to simply ask, rather than assume.) In any event, I hope you can feel a little better. ![]() |

I worry but used to be way worse. I have to tell myself out loud sometimes "you cant change what hasnt happened think about the present" I am usually pretty good now at focusing on the present and not the past or future but it took sobriety and years of practice.

Oh yes. I worry. I have to talk myself through it sometimes. Or distract myself with a good book or a long walk. Life is stressful and we all deal with it in our own ways. Maybe other people are annoyed with your worrying but that doesn’t mean they have necessarily mastered all the best coping skills either. We can only do our best.

I worry about people I care about and things like whether or not I will ever have time to devote to myself or I will drop in the harness. I DESPISE my job and I am worried I will be stuck there for 16 more years, mostly due to my husband's idiotic financial troubles. I cannot enjoy anything during my "worry" times because I cannot think abut anything else.

Yeah I worry a lot. And then the situation changes and then I worry about that situation. I have GAD and my worrying is pretty much never ending. I was worrying about how I was supposed to keep myself entertained and my anxiety under control when I can’t leave the house until Friday due to the weather. Then my boss called and asked if I wanted to work tomorrow. I felt obligated to say yes because I missed Monday and I had been off since. I made her really happy so I feel good about that. But now I am worrying about work tomorrow since it’s not my usual shift. But I also don’t want to sit at home either. So basically I worry and contradict myself constantly.

I tend to be anxious and worry a lot too. I try not to worry about the small stuff by asking myself if it will still matter a year from now. The answer is usually no.
However, I don't know how to handle the big stuff (like the death of a family member for example). |

Sometimes I worry about going blind from anxiety. Then I do actually start to have blurry vision and trouble focusing. Also I have been worrying about developing alopecia since it can be caused by stress. Then I notice strands of hair falling out, or hair in my food.
My question is, can you worry so much about medical diseases, that you actually develop them, or can that not actually happen?

Hello all,I am 19, my father died 2 years ago, it was a great loss for me and the biggest trauma, after that I become very attached to my mum, every time she goes out for the shopping or city center , I am very very nervous and anxious, my hands start to get cold and shake, my heart beats fast, I think that something bad is gonna happen to her, I cannot get this thoughts out of my head. So i avoid to let her go out shopping without me.. what kind of psychological condition is it? I don’t know if anyone had the same situation but i think i am the only one and I am going mad. Please tell me if you had the same problem and how did you overcome.. Please tell me what can I do.

![]() You don't sound "mad", merely experiencing distress. This kind of thing is fairly common and can be helped. But as the disclaimers say, we can't and shouldn't diagnose here. Have you talked to anyone about it? Your doctor? A counselor, social worker, or therapist? What you can do is what you've started to do here, ask for help in safe places. I see this is your second post, so welcome to PsychCentral! ![]() I haven't had this specific issue, but many people have. I see you also posted in the grief and loss forum. Hopefully someone with direct experience can share their story with you. It might take a day or two for people to respond, so I just wanted to offer some immediate reassurance. Since you've already mentioned it, yes -- anxiety can cause or aggravate some stress related conditions and disorders, but not arbitrary diseases. |

do you worry too much....
hard question really on one hand, most of the things I worry about turn out to be fine (with no problems), then again- I have an anxiety disorder. so what's "too much" actually in some situations I feel i've not worried enough my own health, for example. I don't really give a **** about it. I used to worry about things like canncer or other long term illness, but hey I'm going to die anyway- and in my view, I'd rather sooner than later (which is what I mean, I should show more concern towards that kind of thing) |

another example of not being as anxious as I should is death
loads of people are anxious of death and the end (really anxious), but not me. yeah I'm anxious about it, but not much I'm anxious about other stuff.. like daily life stuff |

I do worry about death to like they may try to burry me and I am still alive.I have heard cases before about people dying and they weren't dead.Just last year this 5 year old was pronounced dead and she woke up in the middle of her funeral now that is scary.Especially when her doctors said she was dead.I am anxious about everything.
