For the past week I have been very anxious could be because of the storms two of them and the fact I have to see my shrink this Tuesday I may have to cancel though,I have taken all of my meds and my legs feel awful especially from my thighs to my chins .I just cannot seem to get rid of these feelings.I have tried taking a nap no help there I have been knitting and yes I even read a book yet those feelings like you want to jump out of your own skin are still with me.It feels like restless leg really bad I am on meds for that however if these feelings are really bad no amount of medication is going to work.I do suffer with tremors and I am on inderol for that.I first thought I had these feelings because of the land lady coming today she always makes me nervous and I think she knows that too.It still didnt disappear after she left the feeling is more like from my ankles and up the chin area. Does anyone have any idea how to help with this problem.I even tried to lay down to relax my body.

Hi Carol, sorry you’re having a tough time with things at the moment, it sucks when there seems to be no relief from symptoms!
Can I ask why you might need to cancel the visit to your shrink? He might have to review your medication, or at the very least he might have some tips and strategies to help you cope better. Also, I don’t know if you’re familiar with mindfulness techniques, but I’ve found them to be very helpful in the past. Hope things get better for you soon. :-) |

Are you on topamax by any chance? I get awful pins and needles and Charlie horses on that. I can’t sit on reclining sofas or chairs. I can only sit on my chaise lounge.

No .What is Topamax anyway?I do take benzaphorine something like that because I take some meds which can cause side effects and this meds are suppose to help with involuntary movements like restless leg but I feel like the restless leg is in my arms to at times.I do have neuropathy maybe it is that.It is so frustrating because no matter what u try to do to relax you just cannot.I do my chair exercises that I learned from when I fell.Sometimes it helps but lately it doesnt to much.It is so annoying

Topamax is used mainly for migraines I think. I use it off label for hunger and weight control.

Oh dear, I can certainly see how you’d be worried in weather like that! It sounds like you have a lot of health/medication related issues that are causing you a great deal of anxiety, and as a daughter of an elderly mother independently living at home, who also has mobility issues, my heart goes out to you. I really hope your friend can come to visit, and that that chirps you up for a time, at least until you can see you your shrink! :big internet hugs: |
