This sounds really weird. Let me explain. I have a history of anxiety and depression. When I was 19 I smoked marijuana multiple times and then went into a downward spiral where I was afraid of everything outside my room. I went to the hospital because I couldn’t handle the extreme anxiety. But before I went there my panicked mind developed a thought where I was afraid of my conscious mind. This terrified me because I am conscious all the time. I couldn’t escape these thoughts. I wanted to take my own life because of this because these thoughts were causing suffering and constant anxiety. Eventually after 6 months these thoughts disappeared with therapy, medication, and living my life at college. Recently those thoughts came back after over 7 years these thoughts are extremely destructive and terrifying. Far worse then the other intrusive thoughts I have had. It makes it extremely hard to function and sleep I hope that I can get over them.
