What about neighbours? Maybe one of them would be willing to buy some stuff for you? Or are there any organisations matching volunteers with people who can't go out to the store?

Apartment complex I live in is not very friendly. I never see my neighbors. The usual staff here are now working from home and the lobby office is shut down. I went online yesterday to see if I could find a volunteer service but my county doesn't have anything set up - people are expected to pay to have groceries delivered. I signed up for Meals on Wheels but they told me their vegetarian meals are not that good and they are having a difficult time with their case load, anyway. They basically discouraged me from using them!

I have two weeks of supplies then will rethink my strategies for getting supplies.

It’s better to be cautious in front of every piece of news broadcasted. Here, in the net are coming out so many fake news that some mass media are trying to explain the population how to distinguish when something is a fake.

Said that, I heard in the News here, how the president of the UK first intention was to keep elderly people at home for 6 months and let the virus infected the other part of the population so they may create autoimmune defences.
It seemed to me an atrocity. Difficult to believe. Do you know something about it?

Break, I think people is gonna be more cautious as soon as they get used to the new situation.
This is what I’m observing here when going to the supermarket. First day, there were people without masks, some others didn’t know until said that they had to touch products with gloves, they rush into you instead of wait for you to take a product from a stall. I even coincide with an ex-coworker and he approached to me without mask less than 1 meter far. I was freaking out.
Now, people is more used to the safety measures. So, I feel safer but still I go to buy when I need it. Taking my shopping list, to buy as fast as possible.

It’s a hard situation. If I were there I would buy these products for you.
Keep trying with amazon and maybe, there’s some supermarket near that offers delivering service. Here, even some pharmacies are taking meds to high risk people’s homes.

Ah, how sweet of you! Thanks for the thought. If you were here I would be very grateful to let you shop for me.

I order all my medicines online and have them sent, always. My health provider already had everything set up online before this...you can chat with them, make appointments. order meds, and even have a phone appointment with a doctor or nurse at no extra cost. Thank God some things were already working really well.

Everyone must be having groceries delivered because there are never any time slots left. It's also kind of expensive.

I read one of your previous comments that you thought people were behaving with more caution in the stores so that's also good recent development

I will probably venture out to a smaller grocery store in my area and wear gloves. I haven't yet worn a mask out because here in America it is sort of frowned on.

What are others doing? Are you wearing a mask? The last time I was in the grocery store people were being pretty good about keeping at a distance when entering and exiting the store but when shopping it is a bit difficult.

Supermarkets here will only allow a certain number of people inside but it's still hard to keep your distance when aisles are very narrow and everything is packed together.

No masks here as there is a shortage and medical staff needs them more. There are people sewing their own though.
Although we keep being told that masks are mostly to protect other people from the person who wears them but don't really protect the wearer from being infected.

I know they say that about masks but they also say that the virus can hang in the air (it attaches to dust particles in the air) for up to three hours. I am a high risk for corona person so I think I should have a mask. Masks are easy to make. The last time I went to the store I just put my scarf across my face.

Here, the mask also was frowned on. Now, it’s just the other way around. If you don’t wear a mask, people are gonna look at you as the pest in spite that we soon had problems to find them in the stores. I have a couple of them because my partner got it at his job.

Yes, sure. In a week, people also there will get used to keep the safety measures. We are already experts.
Take into account that in what transmitting the virus regards, the mask is the best tool.

The same here at supermarkets, transports...only a number of people are allowed each time.
We had a real problem to find masks and gloves here. Too soon, stores went run out of them and still we are having problems.

If you can make them, just do it. I'm sure they're just telling us they're useless because of the shortage.
I'm all for everyone wearing them. If, like they say, it only stops people already infected from spreading the virus, that would be a considerable reduction in it being spread.

I'm a horrible person. People never had any respect about anything that frightened me, because "Just stop thinking about it, choose not to worry, worry doesn't help!" Now those people are worried about the virus and guess what I tell them....

IT FEELS SO GOOD.

Tomorrow we will begin the third week of confinement. I heard to say that psychologically the second week is the toughest. For me it makes a lot of sense. It’s been pretty hard among other reasons because of the accumulate effect of day after day of reclusion, receiving only bad news about this situation that is supposed to better only from the following week.

Today my president, finally, decided to allow to be at home any worker whose labour is not essential. It has been happening before but only theoretically because in practice, only were stopped non essential works that had to do with public attendance.
So, again, late but there we go.

I think I’m facing this third week with more hope.

Fear is fear and it sucks when exceeding a certain level. I’m an expert in fears as well.

I heard about your country getting even stricter. Meanwhile, over here they're still running behind in measures and people aren't getting it. We need stricter rules if people can't listen!! Now everyone is just looking for loopholes. Selfish idiots!! I have to share a city with these people. If THEY take these risks and become infected, *I* am also at a higher risk when I get my groceries.

Supermarkets want everyone to wear a mask when going shopping. I think that's a great idea but where would we get one? When even hospital staff are having to reuse their masks. I don't even own a scarf.

Until now, especially after losing my job, the sunshine has kept my mood from plummeting too much and kept me motivated to get off my couch. But it looks like we have a grey week coming up. Not good for my mental health.

That's horrible to hear.

I'm in England and have been working at home the past couple of weeks. We're in lockdown and only allowed to go out for essential trips now and once daily exercise! It's a struggle as I start feeling weird if I'm inside all day or don't leave the house. Luckily I have a garden which I know some don't!

This is exactly the same problem here. Even before that confinement began, shops ran out of face masks.

Some people are very selfish. Noone wants to be at home for so many days but we do it for everyone, however there are people who behave as kids, as soon as the police gives them their back they try to do whatever they want.
At the weekends, there must be a special attention because people want to move to their holidays houses.

I only hope we learn from all this a little and things change even only a little bit. We believe ourselves the kings and the queens of the Earth. Especially the northern countries. And no. We are only motes of dust.

My god, Astral, this is a very sad and annoying story but I heard about similar incidents here. You know...I don’t even think these teens are bad people. They are stupid and unluckily we have to coexist with a high percentage of this in every place. Especially, these times running when we were very close to feel omnipotent.
